With arrests in several municipalities dismantle network of kidnappers

Acuitzio-Uruapan-Ario de Rosales-Charo, Michoacán. – In a series of recent mobilizations between various institutions, five arrests were made related to arrest warrants against alleged members of a criminal network specialized in kidnappings, operating for a known criminal group.
With the collaboration of the agent of the Public Ministry of the Federation of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in Matters of Organized Crime (FEMDO), the agents of the Undersecretariat of Specialized Investigation (SIE) of the Civil Guard carried out the investigative proceedings to carry out these arrests.
The execution of these orders was attended by members of the FEMDO, SIE of the Civil Guard, Specialized Unit to Combat Kidnapping (UECS) of the Attorney General’s Office, Army and National Guard.

Among those arrested, one was apprehended in Acuitzio, accused of executing kidnappings. Another, captured in Uruapan, is identified as the mastermind behind the planning and supervision of these crimes, while a third subject, arrested in Ario de Rosales, shares the same accusations.
In addition, two more detainees were already inmates at the High Security Penitentiary Center in Charo. Both are allegedly involved in planning and supervising kidnappings.
With these operations, a key section of this criminal organization has been weakened, compromising its ability to operate.
