Michoacán offers four hospitals for the wounded in Guerrero; Two air ambulances have already been dispatched

Morelia, Michoacán.- In view of the effects caused by Hurricane Otis, in Acapulco, Guerrero, four hospitals in Michoacán are ready to receive patients who are transferred in critical condition to receive medical attention, they reported in a statement.
The Government of Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla enabled the medical services of the Women’s Hospital, General “Dr. Miguel Silva”, and Children’s Hospital, in Morelia; and one in Lázaro Cárdenas.
The latter has 71 beds available: 60 in the emergency room and four more in the paediatric area.
In addition, the Lázaro Cárdenas General Hospital has gynecology, general surgery, emergencies and pediatrics services, as well as Michoacán and Cuban specialists in cardiology, neurology and ophthalmology.
Michoacán’s Secretary of Health, Belinda Iturbide Díaz, explained that in case of more advanced emergencies, patients will be transferred to hospitals in the Michoacan capital.
Since yesterday, Saturday, two air ambulances were sent to Guerrero to support the work of caring for patients. The aircraft are specialized for neonatal care, pediatrics, and services in general, and will be made available to the IMSS-Bienestar to carry out the transfers and medical emergencies that are required.
Last week, the Ministry of Health of Michoacán (SSM) deployed 10 doctors and paramedics in Guerrero aboard four ambulances with equipment for intensive care, defibrillators, ventilators, electrocardiograph and jaws of life, capable of rescuing people who are pressed and in critical condition, as well as medicines and supplies for first aid and medical emergencies.
