The wage index rose 11.7% in September 2023 compared to the previous month

The Wage Index increased 11.7% during September, which contributed to a cumulative annual of 132%, the National Institute of Statistics and Census (Indec) reported today. Only the incomes of private employees were above the rise in prices, since, according to the index that makes up Indec, they increased 13.2%, while those of their peers in the public sector rose 11%; and the unregistered, who make up a third of the workforce, 7.5 per cent. In the last nine months, and against a cumulative inflation of 103.2%, the salaries of both public employees and those in the private sector both registered an increase of 100.2%, while those of “black workers” had an increase of 76%, so the average showed an increase of 96.5%In the last 12 months the average increase in wages amounted to 132% against a price increase of 138.3%. All this after the salaries of registered private workers increased 136.6% and those of state workers 144.9% and the income of unregistered workers 94.2%. In addition, these variations occurred after the PASO in which the government ordered an increase in the Minimum Non-Taxable Income Tax and the delivery of a fixed sum, especially for the lowest salaries.
