75th Legislature Opens Collection Center in Solidarity with Guerrero

Morelia, Michoacán.- Faced with the situation experienced by thousands of families in the state of Guerrero, after the onslaught of Hurricane Otis, the 75th Legislature of Michoacán installed a Food Collection Center at the headquarters of the Legislative Palace, they reported in a statement.
The president of the Board of Directors, Laura Ivonne Pantoja Abascal, reported that Michoacán legislators decided to open this space, in order to provide support to the communities most affected by the meteor.
During business hours and throughout the month of November, legislators, staff who work for the State Congress, and anyone who likes to support, will be able to deliver non-perishable food, personal hygiene items, cleaning, disinfection and bottled water.
The legislator appealed to the empathy and solidarity of the Legislative Branch with the people of Guerrero, in order to contribute to the recovery of those who need it most at this time.
Laura Ivonne recalled that Hurricane Otis, with winds of 266 kilometers per hour, flooded towns, destroyed homes, shops and hotels, in addition to cutting off the electricity supply and communications.
In view of this, the members of the 75th Legislature agreed on the need to install a collection center and urged the personnel assigned to the different areas, who wish to do so, to donate food and items that will allow them to join efforts in support of those who need it today.
Convinced of the empathy and solidarity of those who work in the Legislative Branch, the deputy is confident that the goal of adding a significant number of articles that will benefit families who are in a situation of vulnerability will be achieved.
