“It was evident that Sheinbaum ‘was the favorite’ of Morena,” said Xochitl Gálvez

Michoacán. – Marcelo Ebrard never foresaw that the one chosen to be Morena’s presidential candidate would be Claudia Sheinbaum, said the opposition’s standard-bearer, Xóchitl Gálvez.
Speaking to the media after a meeting with supporters in Izcalli, Cuautitlán, Mexico, the senator said that the person chosen would be the former head of government that we all know. He didn’t realize Sheinbaum was the favorite from day one.”
As a result, in late August, the PAN senator made a bet with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador that Scheinbaum would be the winner of the poll.
He revealed that he sought a meeting with the former foreign minister before he decided his political future. However, nothing came of it.
“There was an invitation for us to talk, but he always wanted to wait to make a decision. He’s already taken it and I respect that,” he said.
He also highlighted the work carried out by the former chancellor and applauded that he always sought to do the right thing.
“I have a recognition of Marcelo… He was the only one in the government who at least had an intention on the issue of climate change, he had much more avant-garde positions than the government. Too bad nothing happened, but at least he’s a well-meaning man.”
At the same time, he announced that he will present the license to the Senate tomorrow, insisting that it will come into force on November 19, one day before the start of the pre-election campaign.
Finally, when questioned about the elections in the State of Mexico, where Delfina Gómez was elected governor, Gálvez said that the problem was that citizens did not go to the polls, so she blamed the government of President López Obrador, and omitted the administration of PRI member Alfredo del Mazo.
The opposition candidate was asked about security in the State of Mexico, one of the unit’s most pressing problems, and she explained that more investment is needed from federal authorities.
“The government doesn’t care about uncertainty, it doesn’t give resources to the mayor or the governor,” she said, adding that she will implement several strategies to ensure that all units have adequate resources.
“Today it was decided only to give resources to the mega-projects, and there you can see the results in terms of insecurity,” he lamented.
