Morelia, Michoacán.- The promoter of the Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, Carlos Torres Piña, projected a victory for Morena in the 2024 elections, a year in which, he maintained, the party will sweep all the popularly elected positions that will be renewed, mainly Claudia Sheinbaum as president of the Republic.
He said that Morena’s electoral expectation for next year is to obtain at least 1,200,000 votes, which would even surpass the vote obtained by Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Diego Hernandez, the coordinator in Michoacán of pre-candidate Claudia Sheinbaum, also acknowledged that 35 million votes are needed to guarantee the presidency of MORENA, of which more than one million are needed in the state of Michoacán for it to be possible to fulfill that plan.
“In the state of Michoacán, the contribution of at least 1,200,000 votes that we will have for this goal.”
It should be noted that in the voting to elect the president of Mexico in 2018, in the state of Michoacán, 991,154 votes were counted in favor of AMLO, while in the 2021 elections to elect governor in the state, 654,837 were counted, in favor of the then candidate, Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla.
