Milei, on the DNU: “We don’t negotiate anything, we just accept suggestions to improve”

After concluding his trip to Antarctica in search of promoting a new environmental policy, President Javier Milei referred to the Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU) and the treatment of the omnibus law and warned that his party “will not negotiate anything” and will only accept “suggestions for improvement.” If we look at the first and second week of December, that placed the inflationary dynamic at 45% per month, if you see a number of 30, it is a great number,” the president remarked. In order to highlight his shock measures, the president downplayed the importance of statements from the political arc and their influence on price growth. “They are responsible. I did what I had to do: I sent the very orthodox adjustment program, a shock program,” he said in statements to Radio Mitre.Regarding the proposals to divide the bills into sections, the president was categorical and assured that “it is because they want to bribe, that is why they want to divide it.” With the emphasis on economic matters, Milei highlighted the impact that the decree may have on the Argentine market. “We call the DNU a decree of liberation. It’s pro-market, vices of politics are eliminated, foolishness. But useful idiots focus on forms,” he said. As much as we’re doing a phenomenal job, when Congress starts doing stupid things, it takes the bill on you,” he added. He also defended the implementation of the decree after receiving accusations of unconstitutionality. “To other governments that curtailed freedoms and put their hand in our pockets, there was no resistance from the political caste. The decree is an instrument that has been used by all governments and is enshrined in the Constitution. They complain and attack it as unconstitutional when it is in the Constitution,” Milei added.
