Llaryora said that the withdrawal of the fiscal package of the Omnibus Law “is a mistake”

After the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, eliminated the fiscal chapter of the Omnibus Law, the governor of Cordoba, Martín Llaryora, who had initially expressed his rejection and then was in favor, questioned the modification that the government made to the law. In an interview with Radio Mitre, he considered that “withdrawing the fiscal package in its entirety is a mistake, because if you withdraw the entire package, it leads you to make decisions for greater adjustment. And the adjustment is for the people, it’s less health, less education, an exemption from a productive sector that is not going to have it, less competitiveness.” If you have part of the package that we, those of us who are encouraged and want a better country, are willing to accompany, leave aside the differences in earnings, withholdings and social security, leave that for later,” he added. He was also “convinced” that the Bases Law “has to come out” because he believes that “in times of crisis, leaders have to be willing to assume political costs to take measures to move Argentina forward.” In addition, regarding the president’s phrase that was leaked that indicated that he was going to “leave the provinces without a peso” in the event that the Bases Law was rejected, he said that he does not believe that “the objective” is to “merge the provinces,” but, equally, he assured that “threatening is not a good strategy, it does not have any effect.”
