High levels of tourist bookings for the long weekend

The national holidays on Monday and Tuesday for Carnival generated the first long weekend of the year and increased the expectations of authorities and tour operators throughout the country. Among the destinations with the highest expectation of hotel occupancy are Corrientes, Entre Ríos and Jujuy, provinces representative of this emblematic festivity, the Ministry of the Interior said in a statement. In the detail of the expected tourist movement, the Ministry of the Interior pointed out that the province of Corrientes has 86% of hotel reservations, while the capital city reached 100% occupancy and Goya, 91%. Meanwhile, in Entre Ríos, Gualeguaychú exceeded 85% and Villa Elisa 95%, while the province of Jujuy had 86.6% of reserves. On the other hand, the Gastronomic Hotel Business Federation of the Argentine Republic (Fehgra) reported that according to its records, other destinations that lead the occupation during the long weekend are the Buenos Aires cities of Pinamar, Mar de Ajó, San Bernardo, San Clemente del Tuyú; the Patagonian cities of El Calafate, Villa La Angostura, Ushuaia, San Martín de los Andes; Calamuchita and La Falda from Cordoba; Puerto Iguazú, cities of Mendoza and San Luis.In the province of Buenos Aires, Pinamar, Cariló and Ostende have an average projected occupancy of 78%; while Mar de Ajó, San Bernardo, La Lucila and San Clemente del Tuyú reach 75%, Mar del Plata reaches 70% and Tandil consigns 55% of reserves. In Patagonia, the destinations that stand out are the Santa Cruz city of El Calafate, with 90% of bookings; Villa La Angostura, in Neuquén, with 88%; and Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, with 85%. The records were also favorable for San Martín de los Andes, Neuquén, with 77%; and Río Negro, with an average of 75%, in Bariloche and the Valles area, as well as Las Grutas, in Viedma, with 74.5%. In Chubut, the “Madryn Edible” setting, with gastronomy, local artists and various activities, boosts the arrival of tourists to Puerto Madryn, which reported “50% of reservations”, just like its neighbor Trelew. Neuquén Capital announced 25% of reservations, the city of Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut, 23%; and Río Gallegos, Santa Cruz, 20%. The area of the Comarca los Alerces, in Chubut, hit by serious fires, sees the arrival of travelers compromised: it consigns 40% of reservations, despite the fact that the tourist services enabled work normally. Due to the situation that Los Alerces National Park is going through, motorists are recommended to drive with extreme caution on the stretch of Provincial Route 71.In the regions of Cuyo and NOA, the entities associated with Fehgra report that Mendoza Capital has 70% of reservations, driven by the National Festival of the Goat of Malargüe, and San Rafael slightly exceeds the same percentage; while the tourist destinations of San Luis reach 76% of bookings and Villa de Merlo reaches 60%, with a large number of bookings made at the last minute. La Rioja counted reservations for 60% of the offer, although they estimate adding an additional 15% for the National Chaya Festival, which this year celebrates its 54th edition. San Juan, in turn, reported 56% of reservations and the holding of festivals and sporting events boosts occupancy levels, among them, the Beer Festival, the Cordillerano Triathlon, the National Festival of Creole Skills and Folklore, the 32nd Safari behind the Sierras for cars and the Self-Managed Ecological Festival. while San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca reported 22% of bookings. In the NEA Litoral Region, Corrientes stood out, with reservations that reached an average of 90%, and the Entre Rios destinations of Colón and Gualeguaychú, which were also around 90%; Concordia, 85%; Concepción del Uruguay, 80%; and Paraná, 68%. In Misiones, Puerto Iguazú was another preferred tourist destination, with reservations reaching 75%, while Chaco reached reservations for 40%; Santa Fe, 35%; and Formosa, 20%. In the province of Cordoba, its main tourist destinations, the town of Villa Carlos Paz registered 75.8%, and Santa Rosa de Calamuchita, 94%. Meanwhile, La Falda registered 80% of reservations these days, with the presence of family tourism and also a large influx due to the convening Cosquín Rock music festival, which will take place on February 10 and 11, at the Santa María de Punilla Aerodrome. In addition, Villa General Belgrano reached 80% for this extra-long weekend, with a better projection in the higher category hotels. On the other hand, Córdoba Capital had 45% of reservations, with an average overnight stay of 2 nights, and Río Cuarto recorded 40% of reservations, with projections of improving the figure with travelers passing through the area.
