Maravatío, Michoacán. – Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla delivered cards of the federal program La Escuela es Nuestra for 54 million 750 thousand pesos, which will benefit 16 thousand students from 201 schools in the municipalities of Maravatío, Irimbo, Senguio, Tlalpujahua and Contepec, where infrastructure works will be carried out, he reported through a statement. During the event held in the town of San Pedro Tungareo, the president explained that this program was devised by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to deliver resources directly to schools, through the Welfare card and be invested in actions in the schools. He said that this year, through this program, 1,029 million pesos will be allocated in the state for works in 3,419 schools, with almost 390,000 students benefiting from 106 municipalities of the entity. The financial support is given to the parents’ committees, who together with the teachers determine what they will be applied to. Roberto Pantoja Arzola, delegate of Welfare in Michoacán, said that since 2019 this program was implemented by the federal government to address the educational lag in elementary schools. Meanwhile, Gabriela Molina Aguilar, Secretary of Education, said that history is being made in education, since the state government allocates one billion pesos for infrastructure, and specifically in five municipalities of the East, 12 million pesos have been designated for works.
