Pablo Moyano set a date for a possible second CGT strike

The co-head of the CGT, Pablo Moyano, warned that the CGT could call for a new general strike against the national government in the coming weeks. We are surely on our way to a second strike. The CGT has to think about a measure for the end of March or the beginning of April,” said the trucker leader. Interviewed by Radio 10, Moyano also referred to the parity of Truckers, which has not yet been approved by the Ministry of Economy because they exceed the 15% set by Luis Caputo for February, in line with inflationary expectations. Let’s hope that the agreement is approved, otherwise the only way out will be a big truckers’ strike or a mobilization,” warned the triumvir of the trade union center. A new measure of force by the truckers would be added to the strikes that week after week have been carried out by different sectors against the policies of President Javier Milei. In that sense, Moyano warned: “March is going to be a complicated month.” “Each activity is defending its workers, that is why there are sectoral strikes, of aeronautics, railways, health, teachers… On March 24 there will also be a march, one of the largest in recent years. All this is going to add to that social conflict so that at the end of March or beginning of April, surely, there will be a measure. We have to start thinking about that date,” he added. At the end of the month, therefore, the sectoral demands could converge in a new measure of force by the CGT, the second in just four months of management. The first strike of the trade union federation against the DNU 70/23 of economic deregulation and the Bases Law – today in committee – was called for January 24, 18 days after Milei took power. Since then, the tenuous bridges between the government and the unions seem to have been blown up.
