Welcome Javi.” He had previously been spotted in a hypermarket in Gonnet, marking his return to routine. Upon returning to the Country Club, Altamirano was greeted with joys and hugs from both his teammates and club staff. His reinstatement comes at a time when the team is preparing to face Defensa y Justicia in Florencio Varela. In addition, the club from La Plata issued a statement in which it thanked the medical professionals who collaborated in the treatment: “The medical staff of our Professional Staff, headed by Dr. Hugo Montenegro, wants to thank all the staff of the Platense Medical Institute and the Fleni Institute, for the professionalism and human quality demonstrated in the care of Javier Altamirano, who is already recovered and among us.” Altamirano’s hospitalization originated after suffering convulsions during a suspended match against Boca, being first treated at the Platense Medical Institute and later transferred to the Fleni Institute in Belgrano. After medical studies, it was determined that the episode was the result of an “upper longitudinal sinus thrombosis” in his brain.
