Alfonso Martínez celebrates the return of flights to the AICM – MonitorExpresso.com

Morelia, Michoacán.- The Municipal President, Alfonso Martínez Alcázar, celebrated that Aeromexico returns to the International Airport of Mexico City, flights between Morelia and the capital of the country, since this measure will help improve connectivity and facilitate the arrival of tourists and walkers, they reported in a statement. Alfonso Martinez recalled that at the World Tourism Trends Summit, which took place in November last year, he warned of the risks of changing flights to Felipe Angeles International Airport and publicly asked the federal Secretary of Tourism to reconsider the decision, since this would negatively impact the influx of visitors to Morelia. the request did not have an echo in the federation and even the State Government celebrated this change, ignoring the economic problems that would bring canceling the three flights to Mexico City that Morelia had and leaving only one through AIFA. As anticipated, the measure caused a reduction in the number of flights between the two cities and a low influx of visitors by air to the capital, affecting the highest tourism seasons in Morelia. In this scenario, Alfonso Martinez recognized Aeromexico’s efforts so that as of June 20 they return their operations at the AICM and offer a flight, facilitating the transfer of thousands of people seeking to travel to the country’s capital from Morelia, or vice versa.*In accordance with the preventive actions implemented by the Municipal Administration, due to the provisions issued by the electoral authorities, this content is for informational purposes.*
