Isla de Caras prepares for its first show at the Teatro Coliseo

Isla de Caras is a project from Buenos Aires, Argentina, formed in 2017. Since then, he’s been releasing hypnotic tracks that led to the band being part of the Lollapalooza lineup in 2018. “Chango” (2018), his first album, was reissued in 2020 by the Japanese label P-Vine, and described as a “masterpiece of South America, an indie-pop paradise” on the shelves of Tower Records Tokyo. In 2021 he presented his second album “Una Caricia”, by the Catalan label Costa Futuro. Recorded between Buenos Aires and Berlin, mixed by Matías Cella (except for “Partenaire” by Ezequiel Kronemberg) and mastered by Antoine Chabert in Paris, it features the participation of Rosario Ortega, Mexican artist Vanessa Zamora, Clara Cava, Delfina Campos, Juana Rozas and Axel Fiks.La tour of Una Caricia began in Europe with sold out tickets in Barcelona and Madrid and continued at the CC Konex in the City of Buenos Aires as the start of a tour that took the band on a tour of the most important venues in Argentina passing through Córdoba, Rosario, La Plata, Mendoza and San Juan.In 2022 they were part of the Cosquín Rock festival and made the first North American tour with presentations at SXSW (Austin), Treefort (Boise) and Freakout (Seattle), continuing through CDMX and Guatemala. For the second half of the year they played in Peru, returned to Mexico to perform at the Indie Rocks Forum, closed the year with a presentation at the Primavera Sound Argentina festival and returned to Europe to be part of the SuperBock Festival in Portugal. After releasing “Terca”, “Insurgentes” and “Mi Droga Favorita” Isla de Caras premieres their long-awaited third LP “Gran Turismo” that can be defined, in short, as the work that compacts and denotes the artistic growth of the band and that takes them on a national and international tour passing through Chile, Peru, Colombia and Mexico. With their sights set on the final stretch of 2023, the group has in mind their last big move: “Flores Robadas” an EP with reversions of their own songs and versions of classics such as “Dame”, by Luis Miguel, and “Te Olvidaste”, by C. Tangana, whose latest release is “Mi Historia Entre Tus Dedos”, a classic of the song in Spanish that Gianluca Grignani premiered in 1995.
