Chilchota, Michoacán.- In a gap on the outskirts of the municipality of Chilchota, there was an armed confrontation between criminals and National Guard personnel, in which two alleged gunmen were killed and weapons, tactical equipment and two trucks were seized. In this regard, it was learned that this Wednesday the uniformed officers were carrying out patrols on the road that connects the town of La Mesa, when at a certain moment they observed several armed subjects, who opened fire against them, so they repelled the enemy bullets. The shootout lasted for several minutes, until several of the hostiles fled towards the hill, while two of the unknown gunmen, both between 30 and 35 years old, were killed at the scene. Upon checking the area, the National Guardsmen secured a gray Mitsubishi Xpander pickup truck without license plates, as well as a gray Ford Bronco with license plate PSS610C, both vehicles reported stolen. In addition, the federal forces secured a 50-millimeter caliber long weapon, various tactical equipment, as well as magazines for long and short weapons, which together with the vehicles were placed at the disposal of the competent authorities. The State Attorney General’s Office was notified of what had happened, and the corresponding proceedings were carried out, and experts sent the bodies to the region’s Semefo for legal studies. It should be recalled that last Tuesday there was another confrontation in the community of Huecato, also municipality of Chilchota, in which a 4-year-old boy was hit by a stray bullet and his vehicle and weapons were seized.
