Pátzcuaro, Michoacán. – Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla attended the tribute to engineer Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas Solórzano on the occasion of his 90 years of life and commitment to democracy, honesty and causes of the people of Mexico, according to a statement. In his speech, he recognized that the social fighter marked the path of popular democratization in Mexico through his political and social leadership, which has left a mark on the struggle for a more just and equitable country. He stressed that the commitment to follow the ideals of General Lázaro Cárdenas laid the foundations of a social policy that marked the course of the country to fulfill the promises of the Mexican Revolution and break the authoritarian petrification of the system. The engineer is a defender of the rights of indigenous peoples to self-govern, a progressive vision that has allowed today greater inclusion and respect for our ancestral roots.” He added that as a pillar in the defense of National Sovereignty, the fight against the privatization of energy resources and the opposition to neoliberal policies, his legacy continues to inspire new generations.
