Puruándiro, Mich.- In a confrontation that took place in the Jeroche neighborhood, in Puruándiro, personnel of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Michoacán (FGE), with the support of the State Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), through the Undersecretariat of Specialized Intelligence (SIE), arrested Arturo “N”, “El Cemas”, allegedly responsible for extorting a doctor in the region. Since June 25, the victim began to receive phone calls in the name of a criminal group, which demanded the delivery of a truck and cash, to “support” the group, otherwise, they would attempt on his life and that of his family. Two people, one of them Arturo “N”, showed up at the professional’s house and left him a message, in which they insisted on the delivery of the money and the unit, so they began to negotiate the payment, for fear of reprisals. The extortion was reported to the Specialized Unit to Combat Kidnapping (UECS), which undertook acts of investigation and today, during the implementation of an operational action carried out with the support of the SIE, achieved the arrest of “El Cemas”, when he presented himself to collect the money. The now detainee, feeling surprised by the police personnel, fired shots at him, an action that was repelled and in which he was injured, for which, after his arrest, he was channeled to a hospital in Puruándiro to be medically treated, as a detainee. At the site, two firearms were seized, a rifle-type with which he allegedly initiated the aggression, and a handgun.
