Loan case: images of child sexual exploitation found on the cell phone of one of the detainees

On the day that the parents of Loan Danilo Peña, the 5-year-old boy who disappeared almost a month ago in the town of 9 de Julio in Corrientes, met with the Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, the Federal Justice reported that images of child sexual exploitation were found on the cell phone of one of the main defendants. According to Noticias Argentinas, it is the personal device of former Navy captain Carlos Pérez, spouse of former municipal official María Victoria Caillava. It is worth noting that, within the framework of the case that is being developed, both are detained. The expert reports were carried out by Federal Police agents and through the UFED system, they analyzed the information from 19 phones and found that the material found dates from October 2023 to June 2024. They also detected deleted messages and audios. In addition, photos of sexually exploited minors appeared in the Internet cache of the retired sailor’s phone. In fact, it was found that after the disappearance of the child, Pérez entered pornography websites, both adult and child trafficking. On the other hand, on Laudelina’s cell phone, Loan’s aunt, who is staying in Ezeiza, they found 20 calls with Antonio Benítez made in the afternoon and midnight hours of June 13. Among the messages, the experts found a conversation with her friends, in which one of them tells Laudelina: “Say what you know, think about your children,” and another responds: “There is a cat locked up here.” In the analysis of one of the phones, whose ownership has not yet been determined, repeated Google searches about femicides were discovered. The results of these experts are preliminary and all devices will continue to be analyzed, although the final report of the geolocation data, the cross-referencing of calls and see if the content that was deleted can be accessed still needs to be obtained.
