The governors of eight states asked President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to postpone the works of the Dos Bocas refinery, the Tren Maya and Santa Lucia Airport to address the health and economic crisis of COVID-19.
Representatives of Coahuila, Colima, Durango, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Michoacán, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas noted that these public resources should be redirected “to the urgent revival of the states and municipalities”.

They even requested to use all mechanisms, “such as debt or opening up to international organizations”, to initiate economic and social revival.

In addition, they pronounced the Universal Basic Income as a measure that guarantees a minimum income of more than 50 million Mexicans and Mexicans in poverty, “and the more than 10 million that will fall into it, according to ECLAC projections”.
After an interstate meeting, Governors Miguel Angel Riquelme Solís of Coahuila; José Ignacio Peralta Sánchez, de Colima; José Rosas Aispuro, from Durango; Diego Sinhué Rodríguez Vallejo, de Guanajuato; Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, from Jalisco; Silvano Aureoles Conejo, from Michoacán; Jaime Rodríguez Calderón, of Nuevo León, and Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca, of Tamaulipas, agreed to request an increase in the budget for state health systems, to strengthen them.
