According to the balance presented, during the time of the 2020 sargasso in Mexico the most collected months were, June, July and August in regions such as Tulum, Benito Juárez and Solidaridad that during these three months 11 thousand 480.41 tons of sargasso was cleaned.

It was also reported that much of the collection was carried out by the six sargacera vessels that were designed and built in the Navy Shipyards by Mexican hands. Being a problem that affects the region every year, the Ministry of the Navy undertook to comply with the agreements made with state and federal authorities to maintain the Sargasso Care Strategy next 2021.It should be noted that the actions taken by Semar are called upon to keep the tourist beaches clean because maintaining the sargasso in the areas damages the ecosystems given the large amount of algae that accumulate.
