Dave Grohl said what is for him “the best rock band in the world”

Dave Grohl is slowly returning to the scene, following the sudden passing of his friend and drummer, Taylor Hawkins. After announcing a tribute in his honor in London and Los Angeles for September, the front-man of the Foo Fighters gave a radio interview that Far Out picked up and did not hesitate to choose the best rock band worldwide, according to his perspective. In different interviews, he has made reference to his greatest influences, including Lemmy, Led Zeppelin and The Beatles, and recently Paul McCartney invited him to take the stage to sing together ‘I Saw Her Standing There’.

However, Dave surprised by choosing which is the best rock band in his opinion and mentioned Queens of the Stones Age as “the best rock band when they get on stage”. The musician was referencing the great power that Josh Homme’s group has live, with whom he recorded the 2002 album Songs for the Deaf and expressed: “Nobody comes close to them. There are amazing bands with powerful songs, like Rage Against the Machine, and there are fabulous live bands that can get audiences crazy, like The Prodigy, things like that. But musically, as a musician, you sit and see Queens of the Stone Age and you think ‘it’s not fair,'” he said.
