In this event, the musicians will perform works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Domenico Cimarosa, Giovanni Battista Sammartini, Pietro Mascagni and Ottorino Respighi. Felipe Karadima Skármeta, UNAB Cultural Extension director, said that “we wanted to do a concert with this world-class soloist, to whom we bring on the occasion of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the University. The music that we listen to is very romantic, some authors are more unknown, but it will be something that really will evoke Italy, life and love”.
Who is Guglielmo Pellarin?
It is the principal horn in the Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia de Italia.  Guglielmo Pellarin was born into a family of musicians where his father an oboist and pianist mother were the first to teach music.
He began playing the French Horn at the age of seven years and graduated from the State Conservatory of music Jacopo Tomadini in Udine, with first class honours. He also attended master classes at Portogruaro, Ferrara, Fiesole and Pirano, and was then selected for the Italian Youth Orchestra.
In addition, he has participated in many concerts with orchestras of renown, such as the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, the Mozart orchestra and the Orchestra of the human rights. He premiered the Concerto for Horn and strings composed by Fabián Pérez Tedesco, and he has recorded, in collaboration with Federico Lovato, to seal audit “French music for French Horn and piano”.
It is also a founding member of the Opter Ensemble, which, along with all the usual repertoire of trios, performs arrangements of Zanettovich and Serenade Francescato op.11 of Johannes Brahms and Richard Strauss’s “Till Eulenspiegels”.
