They premiere the play “Those women”, inspired by the book “Little Women”

Next Friday, July 1, the play “Esas Mujeres” arrives at espacio Callejón (Humahuaca 3759, CABA). Tickets are now on sale and can be obtained by clicking here. The work is inspired by the sisters of “Little Women”, an emblematic book that crosses generations. “It’s still on the light table closing the reading nights. Its latest edition has a foreword by Patty Smith that highlights the importance of the book within feminism,” they said from the work in a press release.

Then they continued: “The little women were women who tried to break the molds of their time just like their author Louisa May Alcott. We wonder what ‘those women’ would be like today in 2022, already mature, with life made and the weight of their choices. Installed in an Argentine village, in the family home that saw them grow up celebrating the birthday of one of them, they consider the life lived and the path traveled”. Victoria Bertone, Mara Guerra, Graciela Muñiz and Carolina Pfaffenbauer will be the protagonists. The play will be in charge of Sebastián Irigo, theater director, playwright and musician. Since 1999 he has worked in countless theatrical and musical shows, and throughout more than twenty years of career he has traveled various trades within the theatrical – musical spectrum in all circuits: private, independent and official.
“The actresses called me to tell me that they wanted to do something with the book Little Women. They wanted me to write and direct the project. I called Teresa Donato, friend and colleague because with Tere we wanted to work together for a long time. Fortunately, he said yes and we undertook this work,” Irigo said. At the same time, a new film and a new edition of the book came out in Spain with the prologue by Patty Smith, two facts that reaffirmed our decision. I believe that Those Women poses an identifying bridge between love and the miseries of each one,” he continued.
