Washington.-this Friday, the Inter-American Commission on human rights (IACHR) granted measures precautionary to the self-proclaimed interim President of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, and asked to state that protect your life and your family.
The Commission requests the State of Venezuela adopted the necessary measures to protect the rights to life and personal integrity, and ensure the safety of Mr Juan Guaidó and his family, said the IACHR in a document to which he had access Efe.
Interim measures request lawyers made it this Thursday three before the IACHR on the grounds that guided it was “object of persecution, harassment, attacks and arbitrary deprivation of personal liberty” in the past.
In just 24 hours, the IACHR decided that the case of guided meets “prima facie severity, urgency and irreparability requirements” contained in its rules of procedure and justifying the grant of the measures precautionary. The Commission considered that “the rights to life and integrity” guided “are in a situation of risk” that could be “exacerbated” by “the deepening of the political crisis in the State of Venezuela”. In addition, for its decision making, the IACHR noted that guided was detained for an hour by Venezuelan intelligence agents last January 13, when he was already President of the National Assembly (AN, Parliament). The Commission asked the State of Venezuela to report within a period of 15 days of measures taken in favour of guided.
