Jalisco.-Chivas del Guadalajara have a debt to the Tax Administration Service (SAT) of around 400 million pesos, because they did not pay taxes during the year 2010.
This was confirmed by the seventh collegiate Tribunal in administrative matters by denying, in early March, a direct amparo, which was the last instance of the team to question the legality of the tax credit set up by the SAT, says Reforma.
Chivas lawyers wanted to take the case to the nation’s Supreme Court of Justice (SCJN), but the president, Arturo Zaldívar, dismissed his recourse on 23 April.
According to the minister, the amparo does not contemplate any issue of constitutional interpretation for which the highest court of justice must intervene.
In this way, notified the judicial resolutions, the tax credit will be signed, so that the SAT can demand it by embargo and auction of goods, if the company Chivas de Corazón does not pay it voluntarily. That credit and another for a similar amount derived from the year 2011 are the result of the scheme of payment to players, says Reforma.
It indicates that the hiring was through outsourcing companies, which was used when Angelica Fuentes, former wife of Jorge Vergara, was in charge of Grupo Omnilife and its subsidiaries.
It was in June 2018 when it was published that the total debts with the SAT of Vergara as a natural person, as well as of its companies, was of 1.941 billion of pesos, in the period 2010-2017… And several continued to litigate.
