translated from Spanish: From Concordia, he presents his new album “The Speed of the Cotidiano”

In just under 25 minutes, Valon explores how human relationships are traversed by new technologies with rhythms and climates that range from indie rock to the pop chorus. “The Speed of the Cotidiano” is titled their new album and it is this material that they are presenting on their tour. From Filo.News we talk to Emmanuel Rousset, vocals and guitar from this Concordia-born band who brings them to him.

“The album finds us at an ideal time, spinning quite a bit, assembling new songs between the four and enjoying a little harvest of several years of touring the region and meeting many people with interesting ideas,” he says in the consultation of this medium. Ariel Giménez Arellano (bass and backing vocals), Diego Spaciuk (drums) and Facu Castell (guitars and synths) complete the group born in 2008 and with two other albums: “Avalon EP” (2015) and “Los Sonidos” (2017).

For Rousset, when comparing the two edited LPs “the biggest difference” that stands out “is that in ‘The Speed…’ the recording was much more careful”: “We produced the songs between the four with the external objectivity of Nico Gonzalez, of Sempiterno, and recorded everything in two sessions”.”‘ The Sounds’ -continues – was recorded in parts and that also stretched the start time. ‘The Speed of the Everyday’ was recorded, mixed and mastered in 3 months, much more real than what we were playing and feeling about the end of 2018.” Another aspect that catches the eye of this album is the cover art.

“It’s a montage that we did in conjunction with Julián Rebot (Palta DYC) and it seeks to convey our gaze regarding today’s human relationships, where we are immersed in social networks and new communication technologies that bring us closer and move to the same Time. A small rethink to appreciate the real encounters and moments face to face with our affections”, reflects the rapist of ‘valon.Just about the social networks, Emmanuel says that, as a band, they are “quite active on Instagram”: “It is necessary today today give importance to the potential expansion we can achieve from a click on a screen.”
As for the current indie scene, the musician regrets the “complicated moment” that is lived “by the economy of the country” and that he has made aspects such as “logistics and management” but stresses that “self-gracing issues have been learned and greatly improved”. On the other hand, he referred to the federalization of rock by ensuring that from ‘valon they see “a union and a much more fluid communion between small labels and independent bands” although “you have to keep moving, strengthening the independent scene of the country”.
“It is very noticeable the growth of bands in recent years that come from total independence. It makes us very happy and invites us to take a stronger step every day”

Currently, Valon is touring his album: they passed through Entre Ríos, Buenos Aires and Santa Fe and in the coming months they will tour Corrientes and Chaco. In December and January they hope to visit the region whose nis and probably cross to Chile.
