Escuinapa.- A couple was arrested in flagrance when they set fire to the palapa of the chapel of San Judas Tadeo which is located at the entrance of the municipal headland on top of a hill. These were discovered in flagrancia at approximately 02:30 in the morning yesterday, when state municipal police who carried out a surveillance tour through the headboard, detected the presence of two people in this place where smoke was coming from. Upon climbing the site they encountered two people who tried to flee and who were apparently under the influence of some drug. These identified as María Alejandrina “P” of 40 years and Yovani Lisandro “L” of 36 years both with known address in San Ignacio.Both were placed transferred to the separates of the Municipal Police for damage to the property of others.

This chapel is very famous in the municipality, it is there that every year st. Jude meets hundreds of people who are fervent devotees of this saint to thank some favors received. All year round it is visited and can not lack candles and flowers as well as the music that some believers carry any day of the year. This act has caused outrage among the multitude of believers who have always strived to keep this place in the best condition. For his part, the director of Public Security and Municipal Transit Alberto Castro Peña said he regretted these facts, and invited the society to report any kind of violent event that they detect in order to continue preserving the peace that is lived throughout the municipality.
