Sinaloa.- The President of the Supreme Court of Justice of the State, Enrique Inzunza Cázarez, demonstrated the way in which public prosecutors are working at the hearings, which shows perhaps a lack of interest in giving timely follow-ups to cases. He explained that the State Attorney General’s Office always seeks to obtain on-the-top sentences through an agreement with the aggressor or the accused, regardless of the offence, for them to plead guilty and as a benefit they give them the minimum penalty, and thereby avoid the evidence proving guilt or innocence.
Femicides
In the crime of femicide there have been no absolute sentences granting the maximum sentence, which in this case would be, according to the Penal Code, up to 50 years and the minimum of 22 years in prison. “We have not given an absolute sentence, the Public Prosecutor’s Office resigns going to trial, they are being given the minimum sentences,” the magistrate said.
