As every month Sony and Microsoft announced gift games for subscribers of their PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold services. And PlayStation users should be happy, because one of the most beloved titles on the console appears among this month’s games. On Microsoft’s side, there’s not much new: the company continues to focus on the excellent Xbox Games Pass service and relegating Games with Gold to independent or second-line titles. The PlayStation Plus listing is headed by Shadow of the Colossus, the complete remake of the PlayStation 2 classic that for many is one of the best games ever. This project, launched in 2018 and in charge of the Bluepoint Games studio, is a perfect translation of the original, which respects its many high points and retains its most forgetable aspects, such as the uncomfortable control system. Fortunately the team updated the controls to offer an option more in line with the times that run that, together with the new graphics and the fluidity of the new version, make this remake the definitive edition of the classic.
The second game on PlayStation 4 is Sonic Forces, Sega’s latest attempt to revive his most famous mascot. Unfortunately the game was shattered by the press, which although highlighted the overall visual design and customization options, harshly criticized the repetitiveness of its mechanics and the few novelties for a series that seems stagnant. The success of the film appears to have motivated Sega to sign the agreements, particularly as Sonic Generations, one of the many titles in the Xbox 360 saga, is part of the list of free games for Xbox One. Sonic Generations was one of the most interesting Sonic games of the last generation of consoles, combining classic 2D levels (such as those of Sega Genesis) and three-dimensional scenarios.
But the most important game of the Games with Gold in March is Batman: The Enemy Within, the second season of telltale Games’ graphic adventure, in which the superhero will face a cast of typical villains including The Riddler, Bane, Gatubela and Mr Freeze. , and finds him collaborating with the Joker, whom he met during the first season.
