Indonesia.- The Krakatoa volcano in Indonesia reportedly erupted, throwing columns of ash 15 km into the air. There were reports of a strong boom heard 150 km away in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta, around 11 p.m. local time. An image of the webcam taken from Anak Krakatau Island in the Sunda Strait shows lava flowing from the volcano. Satellite images detected a ‘great magmatic eruption’ with ash and feathers that soared 15 km (47,000 feet) into the sky.
It is believed to be the strongest activity since an eruption in December 2018.The volcano lost more than two-thirds of its height after the explosion that triggered a deadly tsunami that killed 400 people.
