A year ago the Volvo brand announced that it would limit the maximum speed of its vehicles in order to reduce the number of claims. After that period of time, finally, this measure taken by the Swedish company has become effective. All New Volvo cars now have a top speed limited to 180 km/h. This is a higher record than allowed to circulate in most countries, although it does go to Germany and its Autobahn with no speed limit.
On such routes, a maximum speed cut would mean a reduction in fatal accidents and serious injuries, also applicable to those who do not respect limitations. The brand argues that some agents involved question the authority of the marks to impose these limitations. However, at Volvo they are so convinced of the decision they made that they agree to lose potential customers if they can save lives for this.
