Following the Government’s “Step by Step” plan, the Ministry of Health confirmed that nine communes in the Metropolitan Region and Valparaiso will move to the Transition stage. These are Colina, La Reina, Las Condes, Lo Barnechea, Uñoa, Til-Til, Vitacura, San Antonio and San Felipe that will begin their deconfining from this Tuesday, July 28 at 05:00.
And, depending on how they evolve, health minister Enrique Paris, Santiago and Providencia might be very close to step two. “We’re going to watch it this Sunday,” the Minsal boss said in an interview with La Tercera.
Paris explained that there are several factors to consider for a commune to leave strict quarantine and move to Transition. According to the Secretary of State, account is taken of “hospital capacity, beds enabled by commune, percentage of occupancy, beds with mechanical ventilation, sanitary residences, etc.”
To the criteria for progressively raising quarantine are an element that Minister Paris described as the “photo of the day”, referring to confirmed, suspicious, estimated cases, among others.
