Mexico. – On this day, tropical wave No. 23 southwest of the coasts of Jalisco and tropical wave No. 24 over Oaxaca, will maintain probability of heavy rains to very heavy, electric shocks and possible hail fall in the west, south and southeast of Mexico. On the other hand, a channel of low pressure on the northwest and center of the national territory will lead to the development of clouds and rains in these regions.
The No. 69 (off-season) front will stretch as stationary over South Texas, USA, generating very heavy occasional rains in Nuevo León and Tamaulipas. Also, maximum temperatures of 45 to 50oC are forecast in Baja California and Sonora.
Precipitation Forecast for Today August 1, 2020:
Heavy rains with very strong punctual rains (50 to 75 liters per square meter): Sonora, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Jalisco, Guanajuato, State of Mexico, Puebla, Veracruz and Oaxaca.
Shower intervals with strong spot rains (25 to 50 liters per square meter): Sinaloa, Durango, Nayarit, Colima, Michoacán, Querétaro, Hidalgo, Mexico City, Guerrero and Chiapas.
Shower intervals (5.1 to 25 liters per square meter): Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Coahuila, San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes, Zacatecas, Morelos, Tlaxcala, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo.
Rains could be accompanied by electric shocks, possible hail drop and strong wind gusts during storms.
Minimum Temperature Forecast for August 1, 2020:
Minimum temperatures from 0 to 5oC: Sierras de Chihuahua, Durango, Zacatecas, State of Mexico and Puebla.
