translated from Spanish: Allegations of family violence and sexual rape turn 5 months up

In September, 20,087 reports of family violence were lifted, a crime that has been on the rise for five months, according to data from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNP) published this Sunday.
This figure is the second highest in the year, below the all-time high recorded in March. After that, there was a collapse in the complaints in April, when the most severe measures of social confinement were issued by the COVID-19 pandemic and even many judiciary powers closed their doors.

The increase compared to August was 1.3%, but compared to last year, there have been 4,264 more complaints from family violence between January and September of this year, up 2.7%.
The same pattern of a fall in April and then five months up is observed in the crime of sexual rape. In September, a thousand and 541 complaints were filed, 109 more than the previous month. With this, it is already the third highest incident of violations so far this year, and it is already at the same level as in February.
Although it is an increase of 7.5% from month to month, compared to the same period in 2019 there are 6.8% fewer allegations of violations.
The SESNSP report shows that there is a new all-time high in allegations of “gender-based violence in all its forms other than family violence,” which happens for the fourth time in the year: September had 401 research folders open for this cause.
This adds up to 2,942 complaints so far in 2020, an increase of 26.4% over the same period in 2019, and an overall upward trend over the past two years.
September had slight increases in almost all crimes of physical violence against women. There were 78 victims of femicide, one more than in August, and 246 victims classified as intentional homicide, 23 more (10.3%) than the previous month. In addition to 5,000 115 who reported intentional injuries, an increase of 3%.
By contrast, emergency calls to 911 by women dropped in all forms that occur, except in sexual harassment, which rose 4% to 782 and have been on the rise for three months.
There were 21 thousand 943 calls (-6.3%) incidents of violence against women, 415 (-11.5%) sexual abuse, 301 (-1%) 20 thousand 510 (-6.3%) calls for intimate partner violence, and 57,000 265 (-5.8%) family violence.
