Camila Cabello noted in the post she shared on her Instagram feed, that “we have a lot of healing and work to do, we must all do our part and unite to continue building the country and society we want to see, with love, empathy, honor, truth and integrity. We need a democracy that really works for all Americans.”

U.S. Senator Kamala Harris has become a woman who “breaks glass roofs,” not only managed to be the first woman of color to be vice president of the United States, but also tells a record in which she has managed to hold important positions. The term “glass ceiling” refers to the invisible barrier exposed to highly qualified and working women, which prevents them from reaching the highest hierarchical levels, regardless of their merits or job achievements, as reported by Great Place To Work. Kamala Harris served as California attorney general before winning in the upper house of the U.S. Congress in 2016, as it earned her the reputation of being very tough and sharp, both from the U.S. Attorney’s Office and also in her inquisitive interventions at Senate hearings. Born in October 1964 in Oakland, California, she graduated from the well-known Howard University in Washington. She became the second African-American woman and the first American South Asian to be elected to the Senate (2016), where she pushed for reforms to the health system, the ban on assault weapons, and progressive tax reform. Now Kamala Harris managed to take the second most important political position in that country, being elected Vice President after winning the U.S. election along with fellow formula team-mate Joe Biden, President-elect of the United States. On her Twitter account, Kamala Harris said after her triumph: “While I can be the first woman in this office, I won’t be the last, because all the girls watching tonight see that this is a country of possibilities.”
After being elected Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris honored those “generations of black, Asian, white, Latino, and Native American women throughout history, who have opened the way for tonight’s time. Women who fought and sacrificed so much for equality, freedom and justice for all, including mblack women, which are often not considered, but often demonstrate that they are the backbone of our democracy.”
