The contest «Together for Valdiviano Entrepreneurship» premied six small and medium-sized companies in the tourist and gastronomic field of this city, each of which received a contribution equivalent to five million pesos to help them deal with the economic crisis they are experiencing, due to the coronavirus pandemic. The donation was made by Cervecería Kunstmann, with the support of the Universidad Austral de Chile and the Skala Chile platform.
Each of the SMEs went through a process of application and evaluation, in which the degree of affectation suffered by the health emergency, the impact of the benefit on the operation of this and the contribution to the tourist and gastronomic offer of Valdivia was measured. Each received cash for $4,100,000 to allocate them to what they deem appropriate, plus personalized strategy coaching for 6 months.
This initiative is part of the anniversary of valdivia’s great earthquake and tsunami, which was conmemored on May 22, when Kunstmann launched a beer labeled «1960», the proceeds of which were donated for this project as a way to highlight the resilience of the Valdivian people in this historical event, and to make an analogy with the current pandemic situation.
Eco Delivery Café Simple: coffee on the way, surrounded by 27 public and private offices, contributing from the nutritious to a healthy diet. They work with local entrepreneurs and small Valdivianas companies. They seek to develop a project that involves a fleet of electric mobility (bicycles and scooters) that can be city-friendly, lower costs and generate jobs.
Hotel Nueve Ríos: house recovered from 1930, native wood as a building base transports to the traditional Southern lifestyle, delivering a welcoming and local experience. They intend to design a pack of Valdiviano products that allow guests and the general public to give away for a special occasion.
Between Sea and Land: Restaurant with wide proposal of local, national and international dishes. High quality of cuisine and its attention is considered very familiar. With this funding they will improve Covid-19 protocols and incorporate more spaces for customer service, as well as implement technology in the care of the premises.
Viking Boat: dedicated to teaching the history of Valdivia, as well as indicating to tourists the important points and places to visit in the region. They seek to renew their boats and add new ones with higher technology, friendly to the environment to promote sustainable tourism.
Senda de Los Ríos: they have ecological and safe vehicles to deliver a tourist walk through emblematic places of Valdivia, which every visitor should know. They want to expand their offering of experiences and offer entertaining for people with different abilities.
Caelum Sushi: Japanese food restaurant, committed to the quality of each ingredient and preparation. As a product of the pandemic and low sales, they had to reduce staff and pay unexpected debts. With financial help they will be able to improve attention, acquire new bikes, upgrade equipment and improve advertising strategies.
