Carolina Píparo, current legislator of Juntos por el Cambio for Buenos Aires, reported being assaulted again by motochorros this Friday, in the early morning of the New Year. Píparo was with his family in the city of La Plata. According to the complaint, six criminals distributed on three motorbikes would have been involved in the robbery. A decade ago Carolina Píparo became known for losing an 8-month pregnancy after being assaulted by motochorros in a bank saltpeter. As a result of this unfortunate episode, the baby died before he could give birth.

The current secretary of Victim Assistance and Gender Policies of the Comuna de La Plata reported the latest robbery in this way: “I can only connect after having gone through a crime again. I was approached by 6 criminals on motorbikes, my family and I are fine. It’s not the beginning of the year anyone expects. Thank you for worrying and for the support, affections of all,” she wrote on Twitter.Besides, the civil service company wrote a letter telling the criminal episode: “Today I can tell you because the six bikers who approached me decided not to shoot,” she begins.
“My husband and I went to take his dad home after the New Year’s Eve family dinner. They were lowering crockery from the vehicle and at that moment when I stay inside the car, I am approached by six criminals to whom I handed my things pointed by a gun,” Píparo detailed to those who stolen his wallet and cell phone.” It was a nightmare again, I am known and I can be on the news today, but this is the reality of many Bonaerenses, who do not pass these situations once or two: we have heard numbers like 7, 10 or more times when a person or different members of a family go through a crime,” the letter continued. He also reflected: “Thanks to those who care, this was my beginning of 2021. I really expect a lot more from security officials, and I don’t say it as a policy, I say it because it’s the reality of millions and I hope they feel challenged by everyone who feels that the streets belong more and more to criminals.” In conclusion, he wrote, “I appreciate that my children were not with us in the car and the attention of all police personnel, I know that many feel the same vulnerability and helplessness as any victim.”
