Mandatario assured that with the 88 thousand doses reached today the inoculation of health officials will be completed and the process for the other target population, especially that of Long Stay Centers, will begin. From the end of January, 170 thousand doses will arrive per week, he said.
After the arrival of 88,000 doses of Pfizer BioNtech’s vaccine in the country, President Sebastián Piñera said that the new shipment will start vaccination for older adults.

So far, health workers have been the target of the drug, which will end up being inoculated with the third shipment. “We’re going to be able to finish vaccinating all the health personnel who are serving critical patients, all the health personnel, but we’re going to be able to start vaccinating older adults as well, especially those in Long Stay Centers,” the representative said.
Piñera also said that since the end of January, 170,000 doses will arrive in the country every week, and that 10 million doses of Sinovac vaccines are expected to arrive in the first trimester.
On his state of health, the President, who is in pre-trial quarantine for being close contact with a person diagnosed with covid, said that “I feel great, without any symptoms and also on Monday I had a negative PCR”.
