The Seremi de Salud de Valparaíso denounced Unión La Calera for impersonating Alexis Martín Arias, in taking PCR exams.

Joe Bonilla, a lawyer for Deportes Tolima, assured that the Colombian club could go to the Court of Arbitration of Sport (TAS) for the alleged impersonation of Alexis Martín Arias, goalkeeper of Unión La Calera, for the taking of PCR exams.

This was because the irregularity would have happened before and after the duel that both teams would have sustained last year for the Copa Sudamericana.

Bonilla told El Mercurio that “the idea is taS. We are waiting for there to be a result in the Chilean prosecution. If there is a culprit for impersonation of the archer there is responsibility on the part of the institution, so we will precede claiming damages”, which would amount to about $2 million.

In addition, the lawyer added that “you have to verify a fact that is extremely serious against all regulations and even in the Chilean federation rule, the expulsion of the club or suspension for such non-compliance may be contemplated or established.”

“This is not a funny thing, it is immoral, disrespectful and against fair play and against every basic and logical norm of behavior. Obviously, if it is possible to verify that impersonation existed,” he added.

It should be remembered that the Public Prosecutor’s Office has already formalized Nicolás Ambrosio Rojo, for the crime of repeated usurpation of the name of Arias, as well as violating hygienic and health standards.

The Seremi de Salud de Valparaíso denounced Unión La Calera for impersonating the goalkeeper, in taking PCR exams, so that the goal could play professional football matches despite being infected with Covid-19.

In this sense, the Public Prosecutor’s Office contends that the archer, together with the general manager of the “cementeros”, Martín Iribarne, and Nicolás Ambrosio would be involved in this illicit.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office claims that Ambrosio showed up on four different days at the Etcheverry Laboratory in Viña del Mar, identifying himself as Alexis Martín Arias, in order for the results of the PCR tests to be performed to be negative.
