Last Monday, May 25 at 6:30 p.m., the Selden County Emergency Department confirmed the generation of the tornado in the town. Following its passage, a day later the National Weather Service gave the tornado a rating of EF1 (moderate damage), with estimated maximum winds of 177 kilometers per hour. This tornado was spawned by a severe storm with a history of tornadoes as it passed through northwest Kansas, Unidos.De according to Accuwheather, nearly a dozen reports of tornadoes from this supercell were recorded. The last report came at 6:26 a.m. in Selden. The tornado left damage to trees, several structures, homes, vehicles and power lines in its path.
