This Friday, July 9, at 10:30 a.m., the New Constitution Observatory (ONCO) will begin its cycle of constitutional workshops. The first will be aimed at the general public with the aim of landing the constitutional discussion from the conceptual to the applied and show in practice how the different issues of the Constitution can be developed.
“The people who participate in the Observatory have experiences in the design and execution of public policies and legal norms, so the idea is to make that experience available to the community,” explains alberto Hurtado University academic and Researcher at the Observatory, Tomás Jordán.
The first workshop, which will be broadcast openly on ONCO’s Youtube channel, will be titled “Practical experiences of drafting regulations” which will have as speakers the Director of Democracy and Anticorruption of Public Space, Valeria Lübbert, the General Coordinator of the Regulation Project for constitutional convention of Collective Course, Javiera Ascencio, the Coordinator and Researcher of the Observatory , Tomás Jordán and will be moderated by the researcher of the Nueva Constitución Observatory, Sebastián Salazar.
This workshop will review “What are the elements that must be seen for the drafting of the regulatory norm, which is a law that will regulate the operation of the Convention. The regulation, for example, must have in mind to generate the necessary incentives for there to be negotiation and political dialogue between the different actors and to cover all those issues for proper functioning: probity standards, transparency, ethics committees, among others, “announces Jordan.
It should be remembered that one of the objectives of the New Constitution Observatory is to be an entity that cooperates with the constituent process through activities of academic extension, generation of proposals and constitutional training, the workshops being one of these.
