Teresa Montaño was intercepted by several men in Zinacantepec to strip her of her car, money, belongings and files of journalistic investigations.
According to the newspaper Milenio, the journalist was detained for three hours, while the alleged perpetrators threatened to take her life.
According to the first inquiries, she was forced to go to an ATM to empty her card and later to her home, where she was stripped of her belongings, several diarys and files with journalistic investigations.

The armed men assured her that they had already been following her, so the attack could be related to her professional activities, the outlet said.
Teresa Montaño has been a correspondent for El Heraldo de México, El Universal; he currently works in the magazine Proceso. 
The journalistic association expressed its solidarity with the journalist and joined the demand that she thoroughly investigate the matter and punish those responsible.
The general coordinator of social communication of the Edomex, Jorge Alberto Pérez, indicated that the government of the State of Mexico condemned any type of violence for whatever reason.
