In the Ministry General Secretariat of the Presidency (Segpres) they are currently on two fronts: one – known – with the Constitutional Convention, with the controversy over the budget. The other is of a more internal nature, since it has confronted the officials of the portfolio with the ministry itself, commanded by Juan José Ossa and Undersecretary Máximo Pavez. Everything, for the future of the Digital Government Division (DGD).
The officials noted their concern through a letter addressed to Undersecretary Pavez, to which El Mostrador had access, where they claim to have “so many uncertainties, questions, which have not had answers” regarding what will happen with the DGD, a unit that has had a convulsed evolution during the Government of Piñera 2, with several changes of leadership.
“There is very little time left before the end of the period of your Administration and we are very concerned that there are people who have begun and will begin to leave the ship, and finally the facts denounced have not been clarified, those responsible are verified and individualized and, therefore, administrative responsibilities are determined and the corresponding sanctions are established,” Designates.
According to the Association of Officials of the Ministry General Secretariat of the Presidency, there are reports circulating about a transfer of the DGD to different portfolios, such as the Treasury, which is full of irregularities, which have been denounced by the workers themselves. “What is the underlying reason for the elimination of the DGD?” they ask in the letter.
Therefore, the officials demand from the Segpres “transparency, solidarity, empathy, certainties and no more uncertainties to the officials, officials and collaborators of the Digital Government Division (DGD) and once and for all the intention to eliminate the DGD (transfer to the Treasury) is communicated. Enough of rumors, we demand that the authority and the leadership give the face and communicate this situation to the people affected.”
For this reason, they asked the head of the DGD, Carlos Gómez Cruz, to meet with officials and collaborators “to inform them of this serious situation that puts job stability at risk. Our comrades in the DGD have the legitimate right to be informed.”
Moreover, the officials denounce that “we do not observe interest in moving forward, nor making transparent these very serious situations that affect officials, collaborators and our beloved Segpres.”
As revealed by officials of the General Secretariat of the Presidency to El Mostrador, the latent fear is that with a transfer or elimination of the DGD there will be nothing a series of complaints of irregularities within this unit, whose background is in the hands of the authorities of the portfolio and must be processed before the Public Ministry.
“Regarding the above, we are deeply struck by the development of the serious history of our beloved Segpres, very serious violations of current legal regulations have apparently been committed, to name a few, ill-treatment, workplace harassment, discrimination, serious breaches of administrative probity, tax fraud, plagiarism, among others. It is for this reason that we have strongly requested you, in accordance with the principles of hierarchy, transparency, speed, conclusion, among others, to clarify the little administrative urgency to the facts denounced, in which those responsible are verified and individualized and, therefore, administrative responsibilities are determined and the corresponding sanctions are established, “they state in the letter.
