Firefighter killed in Aguascalientes as he left a bar

Aguascalientes. Ags.- Mourning there is in the Corporation of Civil Protection and Firefighters of Aguascalientes after one of its members was killed early Saturday in the state capital. The firefighter who was a victim of violence in the city of Aguascalientes was identified as Omar Alejandro Jiménez, 38 years old, who served as a lieutenant machinist of the Fire Department of the municipality of Aguascalientes.According to local media reports, the firefighter would have been shot dead around 01:00 hours on Saturday after leaving a bar. The shooting attack was recorded at the intersection of Convención and General Barragán streets, just as the firefighter was driving on the edge of his truck, a white pick-up with a camper. Moments later, preventive police from the “Pocitos” Detachment and the “Terán Norte” Detachment arrived, as well as road police and agents from the Special Operations Group of the SSPM. Paramedics from the ISSEA ECO-431 ambulance also arrived at the scene to provide first aid to the firefighter, however, he no longer had vital signs due to the serious wound caused by one of the shots he received in the neck. This morning the Municipal Coordination of Firefighters of Aguascalientes issued on its social networks an image with condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Omar Alejandro Jiménez in their social networks.
There is mourning among firefighters from Aguascalientes. “With deep sorrow we publish this news in peace rest our companion and friend, but above all an exemplary public servant, tireless fighter, good son, better husband and a loving father,” they said in a text message.
