Government has ideals of the Mexican revolution: AMLO

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that the government he heads does justice to the democratic ideal of the Mexican Revolution that Francisco I. Madero initiated in 1910.
“The fourth transformation we are doing is from below, not only justice is being done, but the democratic ideal with which the Maderista revolution of 1910 began,” the president said during the commemoration of the 111th anniversary of the Revolution.
He affirmed that in his government human rights are not violated, there is no repression, no electoral fraud from the government, nor is the media censored.

“The Constitution is respected, there is legality and democracy, freedoms and the right to dissent are guaranteed, there is full transparency and the right to information, no one is censored, human rights are not violated, the Government does not repress the people and electoral fraud is not carried out from the federal power, the public power no longer represents, as before, to a minority,” he added.

He stressed the importance for any transformative government of having the support of the people, because “nothing good can be expected from corrupt politicians, from the press that is sold or rented, from convincing intellectuals.”
“If we were not supported by the majority of Mexicans, and especially by the poor, the conservatives would have already defeated us or we would have had to rectify and submit to their whims and interests to become vases or puppets of those who had become accustomed to stealing and holding economic power and political power in our country.”” Pointed out.

He compared the “intense campaign against him waged by the mainstream media” to the dirty war Madero endured.
He also highlighted the participation and support of the Armed Forces, adding that “the soldier is a uniformed people and that is why he will never betray his people, he will never betray freedom, justice, democracy.”
