Berni confessed that he is “very far away” from Cristina Kirchner

After openly acknowledging his disagreement with the national government and refusing to resign, Buenos Aires Security Minister Sergio Berni admitted that after the legislative elections he distanced himself from the vice president, Cristina Kirchner, due to differences with “some issues that surrounded her,” in reference to his fight with Máximo Kirchner.De this way, he continued: “That is one of the reasons why I am so estranged, above all things, of the political space in which I militated 34 years of my life, which is Kirchnerism”, during his participation in La Noche de Mirtha. In addition, he revealed: “What happened in these last elections left discussions with wounds still open and very deep”, on the issues that generated this situation and assured that he has “a more long-term vision, not so concentrated.”
“I am very far from Cristina, but there are things that it is impossible for her to deny: I believe that, by far, she is the person with the greatest political vision of Argentina and from there to the bottom there is a very big leap in terms of driving,” he argued. Despite her admiration, she explained that this estrangement “is not because of her, but because of some issues that surrounded her,” so she took aim at La Cámpora, which she considered “an organization with very prepared people, but also with others who do a lot of damage,” in a clear reference to Máximo Kirchner.
“I have been very critical of what was the electoral campaign of the government of which I am a part. It seems to me that a government is successful when it thinks about the future and not about an election,” he said, noting that the ruling party “has no exercise” because “Peronism never governed in a coalition.” “It should be done to project a nation, strengthen it and obtain objectives, not for elections,” he suggested. Finally, he referred to his support for Axel Kicillof because “he is one of the few people who really has a provincial project.” And he closed: “Why do I have to leave? Let those who said they came to be better and along the way lost 4 million votes because of that speculative, selfish, self-centered look of thinking only of oneself and not of the development of the homeland.”
