Guasave’s mother fears her son and does not have for the psychiatrist

Guasave, Sinaloa.- As the crises of aggressiveness of Emmanuel de Guasave, diagnosed with schizophrenia, increase, anguish and fear take over his family, who due to lack of resources stop buying the medicine, can not admit him to the psychiatric, and live in fear that he will be able to kill them as he has been warned. Marisela Cota, desperate for the situation, shared that in the last year the situation has worsened to the extent that she covered with sheets the wooden room where she sleeps, and told her that there are eyes that see him at night and voices that tell him to kill them all.  Sitting in front of a table in the El Cocodrilo neighborhood, in the Corerepe ejido, the 60-year-old woman opened up and said she was afraid that her 39-year-old son would ignore them and commit a madness like the one that happened with a neighbor of the community last Monday, August 2, when she was stabbed by her brother-in-law, who apparently had mental problems. “I need this to be fast. Sometimes we don’t sleep, and I’re afraid something will happen.” The situation of Emmanuel’s family is precarious, 11 people live, two older adults, two young people, a teenager and two infants, who are defenseless before the strength of their uncle, who began to present health problems from the age of 7. First they were seizures and when he reached his youth the crises were minor, but something in his attitude was abnormal, it was after consulting some doctors and institutions that in 2019 in the General Hospital he was channeled to the Psychiatric Hospital of Sinaloa, they carried out a series of studies, they gave him medications and he was hospitalized, what generated a collection of 10 thousand 143 pesos, says that I managed to pay but not liquidate, because with her salary of 150 pesos from the field and that of her husband, who is 63 years old, they could not get together, having daily expenses, but they were announced that the debt would be paid by indication of the past governor. Even though most work at home, even Emmanuel, making hammocks that he sells for 100 pesos, there are few who ask him.  Just yesterday while his mother expressed her concern about what might happen to him when she is missing or what he could do in a crisis, he was serene, briefly interspersed saying to whom and when he would give himself the hammock he makes with wicks that a neighbor gives him. The problem is when you go days without taking the drug, which is phenytonin, valproate and olanzapine, or that you do not have to eat which is when it begins to alter. A month ago he suffered a seizure that left him unconscious, they tried to wake him up and he ended up hospitalized in the General, where he was given diazepam.  In their desperation, fear and responsibility to prevent something irremediable from happening, they have tried that through their husband’s insurance he can be given, to always have the medicine, but being of legal age they explain that it is not possible, so today he cries out for help. What she experienced last Thursday night while having dinner, made Maricela mobilize and begin to look for a solution before misfortune seizes her house.  It was after 9:00 p.m., while they were having dinner, when his son became upset and began to present impulsive reactions, situations that the family has learned to deal with, but Enmanuel was sulphurous, so a nephew had to intervene to try to calm down, but not even the strength of the young man stopped him and with a machete in hand he tried to attack them, so they sought shelter and called the police, took him out of the home and transferred him to the command in Ruiz Cortines.Read more: Tomorrow will start a festival on the esplanade of the PRI in the city of GuasaveExpresó that every time he goes out to work he is aware that a seizure or crisis can happen to him when he is not at home. Marisela turned to the DIF this Friday after experiencing a difficult situation. They pledged to help her, but she fears she will act late.
