In a hospital in Neuquén, more than half of those hospitalized for COVID-19 are not vaccinated

Last Sunday, Omar Gutiérrez, governor of Neuquén, announced that of the seven people who are hospitalized in intensive care for COVID-19 at the Castro Rendón hospital, more than half did not receive the vaccine and the rest did not complete the scheme or more than six months have passed since the second dose. Four do not have any dose of the vaccine, two exceed six months from the second dose and one with the first dose 18 days ago, “were the words of the president, who stressed the importance of receiving the dose since in these cases “immune protection is not active.”

He added: “Today the hospitalization in therapy of people with COVID-19 without the vaccine or who exceed six months of the second dose are related. Vaccination allowed the curve of infections to fall and it is important to give it continuity.” On the other hand, he stressed that the immunization campaign that began in December of last year “allowed us to gradually recover the spaces we enjoy the most.” In this regard, he said that “with complete schemes in a timely manner, plus the usual care, we will be able to live safely with the COVID-19 virus.”
