Apruebo Dignidad supported Boric’s decision not to go on the tour with President Piñera

The parties that make up the collectivity of Apruebo Dignidad referred to the decision of the President-elect, Gabriel Boric, not to go on the tour with the incumbent president, Sebastián Piñera.La president of the FRVS, Flavia Torrealba said that the position “was quite unanimous” and added that “we are in a very clear foreign relations strategy, directed towards the Asia Pacific, this is an agenda that President Piñera had every right to promote and it is not the one we have so we are absolutely in tune with the decision made by the (elected) President.” For his part, the helmsman of the Communist Party, Guillermo Teillier, pointed out that the collectivity has influenced the decision made by Boric. I think we were the ones who talked the least about that decision of President Boric, who undoubtedly took it with absolute authority and he explained it very well and explained that he appreciates the invitation, but he will not be able to go because he is installing the government and surely he will express how the new government can be represented, I still know how it will be, and how to give priority to some regional organizations that exist in Latin America,” he said. In that line he also expressed that “I personally did not make any recommendations to him, I think none of us. But my opinion frankly was that it was unnecessary to go and I think the action that the (elected) President has taken is very fair and I fully share it.” As for Boric’s position regarding the difference between Prosur and the Pacific Alliance, the deputy said that “it has a connotation for the development of the country, they are commercial, economic, cultural development. While Prosur has more of an ideological sense. I think it’s good that Chile appears in that way making its first foray into the international arena.”
