Catamarca: mass events suspended and circulation restricted in the face of the resurgence of coronavirus cases

The government of Catamarca determined today the suspension of mass events and restrictions on circulation hours, due to the sharp increase in cases of coronavirus that occurred during the last week in the province, official sources reported today. The speed of the registered contagion makes us think that if we continue in this way we can amount to 1,000 or 1,500 active cases in the coming days, and that is why the need for the measures, “said the provincial Minister of Health, Manuela Avila, at a press conference. Faced with this situation, the provincial Executive Power issued a decree by which they provide “to resume the restriction of movement throughout the provincial territory between 3.30 and 6.00, every day, except for those who are duly authorized to work in that time slot.”

In addition, they decided to suspend from December 29 to January 9, 2022, inclusive, all activities of great exposure or mass events that exceed 300 people outdoors and in closed spaces. In turn, the decree provides that between the dates previously mentioned some social activities have the capacity restriction and can only operate until 3 in the morning. On the other hand, the authorities said that “the mandatory use of the mask in closed spaces is ratified and its use in the open air is recommended, complying with all sanitary protocols.”
